Voter registration goes online

   Hereby I am giving some details on how to register online as a voter in Karnataka (India). 

Main work: 

Go to www.voterreg.kar.nic.in

--> make your login --> Fill the form 6 --> submit the documents online --> get the printout of acknowledgement + DoB proof + Address proof --> send it to the AERO address mentioned in the acknowledgement form.

Requirements:

You just need 3 things in your computer/laptop.

1. your passport size photo in *.jpg format. (max size 50 kb).

2. Your Date of birth proof. (scanned/photo) in pdf format (max size 1 MB).

3. Your address proof (scanned/photo) in pdf format (max size 1 MB).

How to get the documents in desired format & size:

* To reduce the size of your photo with the help of 'Paint'. View the demo here: http://smartvote.in/demo/crop.htm

*To convert your documents in pdf, you can download & install cutepdf writer software (http://www.cutepdf.com/download/CuteWriter.exe & http://www.cutepdf.com/download/converter.exe).

*If you have your DoB / address proof in 2-3 pages, you can merge them into one pdf here : http://convert.neevia.com/pdfmerge/

*If the filesize of pdf is more than 1 MB, go to (http://convert.neevia.com/pdfcompress/) & set the 'compression preset to : Maximum compression.
